Reader, can I tell you a secret? I used to think I’d work in corporate forever. Climb the ladder. Become a Chief Marketing Officer somewhere. Retire with a plaque and a party. That vision started falling apart after a few years of working as a Digital Director for nonprofits and political campaigns. I loved the work. But I hated the job. Every six months, I was back on LinkedIn—scrolling for another role, convinced that if I just changed companies, I’d finally feel better. Spoiler alert: I never did. Eventually, I had to admit the truth—it wasn’t the role that was the problem. It was me and the misalignment. I didn’t want another promotion. I wanted more control. I hated waking up, commuting 45 minutes, giving 8+ hours to someone else’s vision, and only having 90 minutes at night to myself before doing it all over again. It wasn’t hard work. But I was exhausted. I craved the freedom to slow down in the mornings. Sound familiar? If you’ve been eyeing another promotion or a new job and hoping it’ll be the answer to your burnout, I want to hold your hand while I say this: IT WON'T FIX THE BURNOUT. Not because I’m I believe corporate is a tool—not a lifelong plan. And when it no longer serves the life you want to build? You’re allowed to put it down or diversify. That’s exactly where consulting comes in.✅ Consulting gives you the freedom to align your income with your impact. This is the path I chose. And it’s the path I now teach other women to walk through inside of the Brand You Consulting Institute. If you're ready to create work that pays well and aligns with your values,
Strategy Snapshot:The fortune is in the follow-up. Last Monday, I booked three calls with three different universities—with follow-up sequences I'd completely forgotten about. + One call that came through without even a response to the email. LOL Because if you’re anything like the women I work with, you’ve hit a ceiling:
Reader, you don’t just want a new job. You want more freedom, more money, and more meaning—without more micromanagement or meaningless meetings. Here’s what I’ve learned: Especially in industries like education, government, and nonprofit—they’re interested, but their timelines move slow. If you don’t follow up (strategically and consistently), you’ll miss out on money that was already on the table.Obsessed This Week:
Institute Insider:Inside the Brand You Consulting Institute this week… I dropped two new resources that are already saving our members hours each week: During last week’s coaching call, one thing kept coming up: And that’s real—especially when you’re working full-time, managing a family, and building a consulting brand from scratch. My goal inside the Institute is always the same: Because the women inside this space aren’t beginners. If that’s what you’re craving, you already belong here. Your Permission Slip:You don’t have to earn the right to want more. If the life you’ve built no longer fits, you’re allowed to outgrow it. You don’t need to justify your burnout. You just need a strategy that honors your expertise—and your peace. – Brianca 🧡 PS – I’m planning a series of YouTube Lives to answer your biggest questions in real time, but I want to make sure they are actual things you want to know.
